About 2nd Cyber Security in Energy and Utilities DigiConference

As the Middle East region’s energy and utilities industries are digitalising their assets, they have become exposed to cyber threats more than ever before. In fact, in the past years, the region has been and continue to be a strategic target of cyber-attacks and 50% of these attacks are on the energy industry. These threats are magnified by the speed at which technologies continue to evolve and by the fact that cyber attackers continue to adapt their tactics, techniques, and procedures to evade and defeat the latest prevention and response measures. To protect critical infrastructure, energy companies must not only ensure the security of their IT and OT environments – they must also deal with the added complexities and cybersecurity risks that emerging technologies, such as cloud, IIOT, AI, and automation bring.

In light of this, the 1st Cyber Security in Energy & Utilities Digi-Conference was hosted and gathered leaders and experts in the sector to address the emerging cyber threats in the ever-evolving digital world and discuss best practices and solutions in identifying and preventing cyber vulnerabilities and safeguarding IT and OT systems effectively and efficiently.

Building on the success of the first edition, the 2nd Cyber Security in Energy and Utilities DigiConference will be organized on 2 March 2021 to further contribute to development of cyber resilience of the region’s energy and utilities sectors and provide an annual meeting platform for industry experts to meet and share knowledge, explore latest updates on global best practices, and advance their cyber security skills and standards.
